The Asco Series 159 Motorized Actuator is offered in On/Off and High/Low/Off construction. The motorized actuator is a self-contained, electrohydraulic linear actuator featuring dual internal control valves for repeatable positioning.
Asco 159 Motorized Actuator
When the actuator is mounted to a Series 158 valve, position indicators on both sides of the actuator show the open or closed position of the valve. The Series 159 Motorized Actuator and Series 158 gas valve combination provide a globally approved safety shut-off solution for a wide range of applications. These applications include boilers, furnaces, ovens, dryers, incinerators, thermal oxidizers and other heating systems.
This Asco 159 Series actuator has broad ambient temperature range suitable for hot (150° F/66° C) or frigid (-40° F/-40° C) environments. In addition, it has slow- or fast-opening constructions make it suitable for a variety of applications. Type 1 & IP10 General Purpose enclosure standard, optional Type 4 & IP65 Watertight enclosure available for outdoor or indoor wash down installations.
Moreover, it has rugged construction ensures high reliability and durability. Visual indication of valve open & closed position is standard. It has optional electrical interlock proof of closure switch is available. It is mountable in any position for installation flexibility.

- Typical time approximately 9 seconds max.
- At temperatures below -30˚C, actuator may take as long as 30 seconds
Slow Opening:
- Typical time approximately 18 seconds max.
- At temperatures below -30˚C, actuator may take as long as 60 seconds
Note: Opening times above are typical and can vary based on ambient temperature, duty cycle, and damper arm options. At temperatures below -30˚C, the fast and slow opening actuator may take as long as 30 and 60 seconds, respectively.
